My name is Bill Taylor, and I am the new owner of the Vine Kits brew-on-premise wine shop located in Mountainview Plaza on Gossett Road in West Kelowna.
I arrived here in the Okanagan at the age of 2 when my parents moved here to start their own wine business. At that age I wasn’t much interested in a wine shop, but I grew up locally, made my friends here and attended school in West Kelowna and later in Kelowna. I was very much involved in sports as a boy, especially baseball and golf (which is still one of my favorite activities). After graduating from high school, I enrolled in Okanagan College where I received my degree in Business Administration majoring in accounting.
During my teenage years I started working in my parent’s wine shop to earn spending money and this continued throughout high school. I learned a lot from my parents about the wine business starting at a young age and always enjoyed the cheerful atmosphere that you find in this type of business. However, I also wanted to see new things, so I moved to Vancouver to work in the insurance industry and later as an accountant.
Toward the end of 2022 I became aware that Wine Kitz in West Kelowna was up for sale, and I took the opportunity to acquire the store and start my own business that I was familiar with from my younger years. By this time my dad had retired but I have assembled a dynamic team consisting of myself and two part-time staff with nearly twenty years of experience in the business. The three of us work well together to ensure we produce the best possible wines and provide the great service our customers deserve.
It has been my pleasure returning to the beautiful Okanagan with family and friends and making new friends at Vine Kits.
